I know that Skoda's come with a 3yr warranty.

However if I remember correctly from the dealer the first two years are limited to 20k and then 20k, the 3rd year being unlimited mileage.

Not quite sure of Skoda's thinking behind this one, but anyway.

I use my car a lot, I compute to work five days a week, go on to dialysis 3 times a week and we do a fair amount of travel over the weekend.

My Octy vRS has just reached its 6 months and has done 10100 miles.

So lets say your car was 11 months old but done 21k miles, there is no warranty.

So I suppose you'd just have to wait a month, then you're into year 2 and the warranty kicks in again?

Same for 2 into 3 - if you reach 40k miles before year 3 you'd have to wait.

Anyway, is there any way of turning the 20k/20k/unlimited warranty into a unlimited/unlimited/unlimited one?

Never heard of that.

I thought it was 3yr or 60k miles whichever you hit first.

Your warranty booklet should give you correct info. Standard Skoda is 2 years unlimited miles with a Skoda UK extension to 3 years or 60K

Did the car come with a servicing package? That has limited mileages I know there is the 3x 10k services, but someone told me recently there is also a variable (dealer only?) version which is has a 20k/year limit.

Nah, I didn't take any of the service packages offered.

Where did you get that from as i've never seen that offered by Skoda anywhere. Even Audi's are limited to 80-95k miles depending on the model for Warranty Extensions.

Always worth remembering that the warranty never replaces your rights under the law. Sometimes the warranty provides additional cover but many times one can end up arguing the toss about whether or not something is, could be or should be included under the warranty when the same case under the law is as plain as day.

I agree. Another way of saying Warranty is "Out of Court Settlement".

And given a full dealer service history the goodwill warranty is quite favourable even for 4-5 year old cars.

But yes it is unlimited for 2 years then 3rd year is capped at 60k.
