front door speaker help

Featured Replies

hi all just got myself some hertz speakers for the front door and r having trouble getting them to fit moutning depth wise so looked around for a speaker adaptor found one so thats on order but i am just wondering if anyone else knows as to weather a set of speaker adaptors will push it forward enough as they r 61mm mounting depth but what i can tell it gets soo far in but seems to stop halfway and looking at it there is a piece of metal at the back which is causing problems but looking at it even if i was to bend the metal it would still go too far towards the window bit at the back if anyone can help me out with this will be mighty grateful

cheers all

I cant remember if i took it sway or bent it back mate.... Like a small lug bit isnt it ????

I touched it back up with paint tho so not bare metal :smirk:

Just take it steady

yea its behind that foam looking stuff when u remove the speaker when u peel that back u see the window thing at the back sorry cant remember proper name for it and then just where u put the speaker in the back there is a metal piece at the bottom of the back of the speaker hole.

Yeah sounds rite, ive done mine and when i did richies

Although on his i think he actually removed the small section with something un my box of toys lol

On the nottom ish, il try find a pic of his as he put red paint on to show where he cut

if your can buddy be mighty grateful incase the speaker adaptor aint going to push my speaker far enough which i doubt it will anyways. plus the other problem aswell is from the looks of things the orginal skoda grills will have to be ditched due the fact the factory speaker is shallow but pushed back. so theres like a 1-2mm gap for the grills which cause problems getting aftermarket speakers unless they r shallow ones to fit behind that but hopefully the adaptors will sort all of it out.

thanks all

hi all well after having problems speakers r finally fitted had to get a in car radio shop to fit them as the adaptor still didnt help matters. but from what it looked like i would of had to taken the door card off and there was no way i was doing that so gave all the gear to the radio shop. only to find i didnt need the adaptor at all!! but overall results r impressive very clean sound and good midrange bass and (lows depending on song). my only gripe is it sounds like there is sound escaping on the bass side so some sound deading will be put in when i can afford to and a amp but very happy overall.
