2004 VRS - which oil filter?

Featured Replies

Hi, I remember reading about this years ago but cannot now find the thread.

We have a 54 plate furby in need of an oil and filter. I seem to remember 2004 year cars as having two different types. How do I know which is which? Or am I just dreaming it :)

Cheers,

James

New one on me that. I'm not aware that the engine was modified at all for the facelift in September 2004 so I'm not sure why there'd be different oil filters involved.

Here's the part no.:

UPDATE - the last letter may have changed:

However I'd have thought unless other parts of the number change any revision would fit.

There's also info at http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/43893-wanted-the-part-no-for-oilfilter-on-the-vag-14-tdi-pd-engine/page__view__findpost__p__531054 (non-vRS)

I know the PD160 uses a different oil filter to what's listed in what seems like everyones parts book/computer, it uses the same filter as a mk3 Ibiza TDI...

from the attached stolen picture I need the filter at the top but get given the one in the bottom :|

The one at the top looks like a non PD Octavia filter 074115562A, whereas the one below is the standard filter used on the PD engine 071115562C.
