 Get it Vagged asap and get someone in the know to play with it: I doubt it's a full out ECU failure

probably some loose wire/faulty sensor but don't pay dealer prices to get it fixed IMHO

In went to my local dealer lastnight and told them the problem. I then told them the possible solution as stated in that article about removing the boost pipe and cleaning the throttle flap. They told me that they had never heard of this problem before and they could do a diagnostic on the car. If the diagnostics dosn't find the problem then they would clean the throttle flap as suggested. So my cars booked in for next thursday. I'll let you's know how it comes along. Hopefully I'll get a better courtesy car than the Fabia 1.2 for a change. Its a bit different than driving the Octavia.

Mine went in on Tuesday for the same thing. I've had the car for about 9 months and during warmer weather I lost boost maybe once in 6 months. Now its colder i'm getting the problem about once every 2 weeks. Mine's been in for the pipe change a few weeks ago, but boost went again on me on Monday morning. Fault 17705 is recorded. If I clear it, it comes back within a couple of miles.

Due to the number of other cars this is happening to, I'm starting to think its a 'feature' of the 1.8t !

Engine off and on again restores it to its former glory.

My car went into the garage this morning. The diagnostics didn't show anything so their trying to find the problem by stripping the turbo down. So my car is in over night and I've got a 1.2 Fabia to use.

See whatr they come up with tomorrow?????

its the dv or a boost pipe..

Just gettin the verdict on my car.

It needs a new throttle valve and a new air intake duct.

Sounds expensive...

WOT HE SAID

Me smells a Rip-orf

Changing those parts under warranty is one thing but having to pay that much yourself is quite another! What exactly is wrong with the air intake duct? Is this a part which has now been modified to cure a known problem? And are we talking about throttle body or valve - or both - and is it possible to clean either/both?
