The front bumper looks a bit too Max-power , the rear spoiler wouldn't end up looking like that on a road car , and the rest of it could be any other new shape octy.

After the new Leon pics I was expecting something a bit more special.

I realise that this *isn't* going to be exactly what we get , and thats probably for the best

I agree that that is probably quite close to what we will see, with slight modifications to both spoilers.

Dr Zoidberg - the new RS was always going to look predominantly the same as Octy 2 with a few styling changes, just as Octy 1 RS was, there is no way they would make a completely different looking car, it just wouldn't be financially viable.

BTW - personally think the new Leon looks minging ... just looks a bit like an Altea but lower :P

That looks appalling IMHO. Far too low at the front, so that the wheels and arches look out of proportion, the front bumper looks like a superglue job and I don't see how it gives any clues as to the production vRS. As others have said, I expect a subtle bumper job front & rear, along with spoiler, different wheels and brakes. In the same vein as the current.

You know the recipe

To make a vRS simply take normal octavia,add big wheels,green brake calipers,(not red),sports seats, a VAG engine unit and a stainless steel exhaust pipe(oval)

Sprinkle on side skirts and a dash of deep front spoiler .

Take 0.5 seconds off the golf 0-60 time and add a top speed of 155 et voila!!" vRS II a la skoda" tasty,but discreet.

(don't overcook or you will blacken the headlights )

the good thing about the old octy I vrs was it looked different enough from the standard octy.

on the picture there really is very litlle difference.....time will tell i guess,

i'm sure i read somewhere that the new vRS would be more aggresive looking than the current version !?

i havent seen the new Leon so couldnt comment but i hope Skoda dont loose the vRS plot with the new octy... they need to keep an aggresive sporty look but not go to over the top, they also need to exceed the golf and leon outputs to attract new buyers of both those cars.

imo as a current shape octy vRS owner of course.

yeah my concern with that picture is it really looks no different from the ordinary octy, same bumper-stupid stuck on bit! who knows but it may turn out to be a realistic idea like the last cup car :(

... but interestingly both Nigel and kenny think its too understated - shows we all have different views, as I reckon that that looks more radical in comparison to Octy 2 than the Octy 1 RS did to the normal Octy 1.

my point is.

the "cup" on both the octy I and II have add ons from the road car.

so the octy II vRS will loose various parts compared with the cup.

so if you remove the black lights, white wheels, stickers and sunstrip

replace them with normal alloys, the only real difference i can see from an octy II is the front bumper valance and rear spoiler.

at least the octy I vrs had a completely different bumper design changing the whole look of the car.

but when you break it down the octy I vrs was very similar to the standard octy and i suppose the octy II will be much the same, some of us are probably hoping for 2 much. i just want more than a stick on bumper valance;)
