Anyone got a Sony 19.5v one spare haha. The light was off on the box but I can hear sparky type noises when I plug on the lead from the plug end. Yet another i.t. issue....

same thing happened to me mate, type the model of the laptop into amazon, i got a replacement one for £13 delivered with 12 month warranty.

Sparky type noise is normal when plugging the lead into the adaptor - it is simply the electricity arcing when the 2 connections meet.

If no light is coming on then the adapter is likely fried. Get a new one off Ebay or Amazon.
