fit oem cruise or keep aftermarket

Featured Replies

My octavia came with a after market criuse control fitted. Which works fine, I have just bought a oem one cheap.

the after market one works on a cable connected the the throttle pedal. I have found a lower steering column trim at a local breakers.

this is what it looks like at moment

I little bit of work to remove and then fit oem one!!! what you guys think?????????????? :giggle:

If it works then leave it I guess, full kit from Skoda Inc loom is about £60.

Well,

it would look better. I cannot believe the previous owner fitted that aftermarket kit, when the car has all the software and gubbins already and only needs a stalk, a bit of coding and depending on model some minor additional wiring work.

All MK1 Octavias require wiring for cruise control, pretty simple though especially if you get a kit

In your position, (especially having the kit already) I'd change it. It'll improve the look of the car and also should help resale? I'd rather see an OEM solution in place rather than an aftermarket "hack".

Yeah if you have all the gear ready to go then it is a no brainer to swap it IMO.
