What should be included in this? The service book has lots of check boxes, but nothing to specify exactly which of them should be done...

Mitchell Group (Cheshire Oaks) say I am due a "standard annual inspection service including oil & filter", but my service book suggests the brake fluids should be changed as well..? It has done 104k miles

Also - does Â£187.52 inclusive of vat sound OK? I have never owned a car new enough to bother having a main dealer service...

There's no such thing on most VAG schedules. For "fixed" servicing:-

Annual / 10_000miles / inspection

Biannual / 20_000 miles

4 yearly / 40_000 miles.

Brake fluid change every 2 years irrespective of mileage, because it's hydroscobic and absorbs water at a fixed rate against time.

So 3 years is an inspection, and £187 sounds high to me but I don't live in Cheshire.

Does having a vRS with 4X4 bring a noticeable improvement to the car?

This is a follow up to a previous question I posed recently. I had a 2008 vRS for over 12 years and really loved it before moving on to something different. Looking to getting back into vRS ownership again and toying with the idea of finding one with the 4x4 drive train. If anyone has been able to compare the two, is there a noticeable improvement in road handling with this variant? Thanks

History is that since the coilovers were done, the front-left top mount has aways creaked on turning; classic top mount sound of juddering movement. I've tried rotating the spring a little in case that's a difference but I need to do try some more just to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. In the meantime, the front right has developed a creak which is different. It's a heavier creaky rubber feel to it which is triggered on minor movement/weight shift. Going over speedbumps obviously makes

I have a 2014 diesel octavia estate 1.6 blk edition. Lately, and since service my mpg is alot lower than normal. I understand my car is old but recently ive noticed im using more fuel. Ive asked my usual mechanic and hes replied with the expected answer i thought hed suggest which is weather, tyres, speed, fuel prices and that mpg is never ro be trusted. Im not taking fuel prices into consideration as im seeing my fuel being used up more. Mpg today has been 34,on a route i normally use and get

Hi all, Recently picked up a 2017 1.0 TSI. Every time I start the car there’s a noticeable ticking/rattling noise that lasts around 45 seconds then stops completely. Happens on every start, not just cold. Car runs perfectly once warm with no issues at all. Has anyone experienced this on the 1.0 TSI EA211 engine? I’ve read it could be the Turbo actuator rod linkage? Car was serviced by Skoda main dealer a month ago. Any experience or advice appreciated. Video link of said noise: https://y
