Screw loose

Hi,

I've recently got myself a nice (nearly) new Octavia VRS (TDi) and have been working on feeding the power cable for my phone cable to the 12v socket.

I undid a screw holding the 'carpet' onto the side of the centre console in the passenger footwell so I could get my hand in the back and feed the cable through from the drivers side.

Trouble is now the screw doesn't seem to 'screw in' to anything.. :-S I'm going to have another go tonight but wondered if anyone knew if there might be a washer or something that has dropped down..?

Ideally I'd rather not have to feed the cable to the 12v socket. Its a usb cable, has anyone hard wired this into the car before?
