Gateway Controller

Featured Replies

What's a Gateway Controller? Where's it located on the vehicle (2010/11 build, RHD)? And roughly how much does one cost?

Thanks!

A gateway controller is a central electronic module that interconnects with all the other modules on the car and passes information from one to the other as required, it also provides the diagnostic link to the other controllers. I cant tell you where its located on the Octavia, they are usually located behind the main fuse box/relay carrier, the cost of a unit is about £130

Tony

Eddie_NL on this forum has some of the latest ones for £75 delivered. Would recommend him.

When I find mine, I'll let you know.

I believe that since MY'07, the CAN on the Octavia has been located in the driver's side (not behind the glovebox).

It is not difficult to get at (took me two hours to swap and recode the new one and I'm no mechanic).

Follow this tutorial and it should be straight forward.
