can anyone tell me wat this is?

it's on the top right inside of the glovebox.

i'm looking at removing my glovebox soon (to install my 9wz bluetooth unit), but i was unsure of this bit.

wat does it do?

i heard there is an airbag switch that can be used to turn off the passenger airbag - is that wat this is?

i'm comfortable with how to remove the glovebox, just not sure about this thing.

Pure guess, going by the snow flake is it not for the glove box chiller coupled to the air con, off / on.

It is just a knob to allow air from your heater/ aircon into your glovebox . suppossed to chill your cans etc but you would need to have it really turned down( the aircon, to do that) It is literally like the top of a talcum powder shaker in that you turn to expose the hole/vent

so its a green light for me to remove the glovebox with no potential hassles

The airbag switch is (on my 2005 model) top-left of the glove box. When I removed mind to fit my new radio I undid all the screws holding the glovebox then let it sit on something in the footwell with the airbag switch still plugged in. I used the key to disable it first but didn't trust it not to go off if unplugged.

You may need to unplug the courtesy light connector too in order to drop the whole thing. It's been a few years since I did mine so I can't remember.

I've just put mine back together after disconnecting the light and the air bag switch.

Have scanned with VCDS after and had no issues with air bag system.
