vrs remapped now running lumpy and wont idle as it should

Featured Replies

hi had the vrs remapped today and im not happy with the results they did a vag com and it came up withp102-35-10 maf sensor and p10602-35-00-- but anyway it judders when feathering the throttle the idle is between 800 and 1000 and the revs are slow to go down its fine if your planting it but useless on normal driving the traction controll is stuck off aswell any ideas

many thanks ali

Where did the remap? Have you reported issues to them?

celtic tuning did it i have to wait till monday now they said change the maf and it would be spot on but i cant see that being responsible for all that

How was the car running before taking it to them ?

tbh you're not the first to report issues with a stage 1 celtic map

hi tbh it did have flat spots i put this down to lag but they are way worse now i know a remap will make things feel a lot worse im going to try the maf and see if its any better will the codes need clearing after i replace it

let me think, the MAF is at fault....

If the MAF has gone then you could have those symptoms. i.e fuel / air mixture will be incorrect. I also think the ASR light stays on with a MAF gone. As the tuner did do a VAG come check and found a MAF fault then why not wait till this has been replaced to see how it runs. Lets not bash the Mapper yet.

And as you have just stated your car was not running perfect before.

Why get a car mapped and then get unhappy when it is not working fine, when it is not working as it should before hand

Also as been mentioned sometimes when a car is mapped any part that is border line on failing will soon fail worse after due to the additional stress a map can do. i.e coil packs are a good one for this.

Spot on remapping a car with issues / problems is only going to make matters worse.

+1 to what the others have said

My advice would be to get the map removed, get the car running 100%, then try with the map again.

Trying to fix the pre-existing problems with the new map on could be a real hassle.

Exactly. I can't believe anybody would even consider remapping and attempting to maximise the performance without having the car in 100% working order first. :wall:

and tbh my last car was a impreza so i have to say i wont of noticed the maf it just seemed flat

Sounds like it's time to talk to your tuner, or book it in to a specialist to have it checked over.

Tuner should sort it mate, IF they are reputable.

If they found any inomalies they wouldnt of mapped it. Take it back and see what they say. might be a crap map?

Ive had a few maps and all have their probs but the 2 I have now are the best by a long long shot.
