post delivery upgrading

Can anyone give me an idea what cost i'm looking at to add front fogs and centre armrest box thingy to a 2011 Octy estate SE+.

Don't know if it's an easy DIY job or better to go through a dealer.

Cheers

The actual fitting of the fog lights is relatively easy. Wiring them up and coding them to the car is a different story.

The fog lights also have DRL's (Daytime Running Lights) built into them too which also complicates things from a coding perspective.

You will also need to upgrade the light switch too.

All in all a quite complicated and expensive modification, better to have specced them on the original order.

The armrest / jumbo box should be possible. It has an AUX input and an outlet for the A/C to keep the inside cool together with the air vents for the rear seat passengers so again not quite as straight forward as it sounds.

If you ask your local dealer to price the job up I think you may be put off by the price!

Oh dear, might ask the dealer to price it just for a laugh, you know, i haven't even seen the car yet because i'm still offshore, the SO loves it though and i don't think she'd be bothered with or without upgrades. I'd have specced the extras if this car wasn't one of those pre-built models in the latest offers, still a good deal though.

Curious thing is, i can't believe how enthusiastic Skoda owners are and being on this forum just proves it's a good thing.

You never know you may be pleasantly suprised.

It does very much depend on your local dealer as standards do seem to vary quite a bit.

Some dealers are very much more customer focused in terms of making modifications etc. It tends to be the smaller family run firms. The ones run by larger companies that have dealers across the country and cater for several different manufacturers seem less willing (in my experience).

Good luck, let us know how you get on!
