Columbus audio

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Had an odd one this afternoon whilst driving up the M1 from London to Yorkshire. Basically while listening to the radio the sound on the Columbus cut out and nothing I could do would bring it back. Sat nav voice instructions and the button beeps kept going for a while as I fiddled with it to try to bring the sound back but even these eventually gave out. Also if I switch to a different radio station it automatically jumps back to the one it was on when things went wrong. To start with all other music (cd, hdd, SD) looked to be playing ok just no sound, however now I can't even get it to play off the hdd, I can browse through the folders and tell it to play a track but even the graphics don't show it as playing now.

Have turned ignition off and back on but made no difference.

Anyone any ideas or do I need a new Columbus?

Update - All functions are back on this morning as if nothing had happened.

I guess I just need to monitor this and see if it happens again.

Anyone seen anything like this before?

Thanks.

Hmm, I wonder if it's like the Millennium Bug - Got in mine this morning and no audio from CD. Flicked over to MDI and my ears nearly caved in - I'd turned up the volume! Went back to CD and bongo - full audio!

Got in to come home and no problems. Wonder what will happen tomorrow!!

It happens sometimes, mine has done this once in 18 months, but never happened again.

Hello. Any more problems?

This morning I have lost radio sound yet it looks like I can still change stations on the screen.

The cd still works but only at a medium to low volume and the volume won't go up or down AND sat nav has lost her voice! No sound but still showing directions on the screen...any ideas...anyone?

Cheers, Martin.

Give it a rest overnight, will probably be fine come morning.

Not had any more problems with mine since that major blip.
