Water Pump Replacement

Just changed the water pump on my 01 Fabia 1.4 Mpi, very easy once a few obvious steps followed, trial and error on my part, first loosen your fan belt at the alternator and remove, remove the pulley wheel attached to the water pump, with a piece of timber and a jack support the engine at the sump, this done loosen the bracket from the old pump to the engine mount, now jack up the engine a few inches to give you a little angle and a bit of clearance for removal and replacement, before you go near the pump loosen the brackets on the section of metal pipe below the pump (outlet pipe) these are located just below the pump and beside the sump, just follow the pipe down and around, then remove the engine mount, very simple four small bolts, then remove the water bottle (two screws), disconnect the rubber pipe from the water bottle to just below the pump at the pump end, now you have loads of space, remove old pump, a little sand paper rubbing on the old face a little grease on the new pump side of the gasket, slide on your new pump and before you reattach refit the hose to the outlet while the brackets are loose, once attached tighten the brackets again and then tighten the nuts and bolts on the new pump,reattach the pulley wheel to the pump, reattach the water bottle hose and water bottle to the body, reattach the engine mount to the body and as you let down the jack realign the engine bracket from the top of the pump to the engine mount and tighten the bolts, replace the fan belt as removed, then in a weeks time check the nut on the engine mount again, voila
