Pallas 17" wheel question.

Featured Replies

I know SFA about wheel offsets etc so am seeking help.

Car is 2009 Octavia estate in elegance trim. Current wheels are slightly battered 16' x 6.5 Lyras ET 50.

I am looking at a set of Pallas 17 x 7 ET 54

These wheels are listed in some Skoda brochures as options but they always state with sports suspension pack (which of course, I dont have.

Will they fit my car? Will the difference in ET, i.e. 54 instead of 50 make for any problem?

Thanks in advance.

Based on the sizes you have quoted, the inner clearance will be reduced by an insignificant 10mm, and they will extend an even more insignificant 2mm beyond you current wheels. So in laymans terms, they will be fine.

Be aware that there may be more road noise and the tyres will be a bit more expensive. Plus side is that they do look pretty good and are relatively easy to clean. I can get my hand and a sponge through the spokes. Unless I employ the local Russian hand washers.

I replaced a set of 15" Pyxis alloys with a set of 17" Cepeus (L&K) alloys. The former are 6.50J X 15H2 ET50 fitted with 205/60R15 tyres while the latter are 7J X 17H2 ET54 fitted with 225/45 R17 tyres. Go for it!

Others have hopefully addressed the "will they fit" issue.

I would just like to add my congratulations on your impeccable taste in wheels

IMHO they are the best standard issue wheels available for the Octavia - not only do they look stunningly good but they are dead easy to keep clean because there are no narrow slots, grooves or awkward holes.

I don't know if there are other factors at play but the Vega alloys on my pre-FL Elegance would be black with brake dust within 50-100 miles of being washed. The Pallas wheels just don't seem to get dirty as quick and even 500 miles after a wash are still looking good.
