Anyone has experiance with KUFATEC e-mfa

Featured Replies

Hi

I've making some inquires about this product:

http://www.kufatec.de/shop/product_info.php/language/en/info/p1329

It's supposed to add the following features to the Maxidot display:

  • Boost pressure in bar
  • Oil temeperature in°C/ F
  • Water temeperature in°C/ F
  • Remaining petrol capacity in l
  • Speed in km/h - m/h
  • Revolutions per minute
  • Battery voltage in V

It looks very nice on paper and the company support rep. sayes it should work fine with my car but I was wondering if anyone tried it and can maybe share his experience.

Thanks

Works OKish. There are issues with the amount of fuel left in tank on some cars, and also the boost gauge only works on TDi.

It masquerades as a Navigation device on the CANBUS so you will always have an incorrectly coded error on your CAN Gateway. If you code the CAN Gateway for Navigation installed you will then get an error that the Navigation unit is not present!

I had one as it was included with the Kufatec Hands free kit. They have stopped support for the e-mfa add on so will not make any future updates when I enquired. I could always get the amount of fuel remaining to display correctly in litres when I set to km/h as the speed, but if I changed to mph it had a mind of its own and regularly displayed random values, including ones like 883 litres remaining!

Will this work with a Skoda? The details in your link seem to suggest it's only suitable for VW's?

Thanks andyvee, I spoke with their sales rep. and he told me it is supported on but wouldn't guarantee the boost gauge will work which is mostly the reason why I wanted it in the first place.

Thanks a lot for your help.
