Another leaking door thread!

Featured Replies

In the process of looking for some decent sealant I saw this and wondered if it would be any good. Might be easier and no drying time needed. Has anyone any experience with using this or something similar?

I re-sealed my doors immediately after buying my Fabia VRS 18 months ago. I would imagine that using adhesive tape would be more hassle than it's worth. You'd spend a lot more time trying to insert the tape trying to get a decent seal than squirting in some sealant and letting it dry to be honest. I used 'Pu-Flex' (it wasn't fun asking for that over the counter, lol), but there's loads of other gooey sealants you can use e.g. TigerSeal, that you can inject right into the door nooks and crannies. Hope this helps.

Ok see what you mean.I'm going to Screwfix in the morning to by some gutter sealant. Thanks for the reply ;)

Using tape would be far too much hassle since you'd have to unrivet the carriers to do it properly.

Since someone's started yet another topic I'll say yet again that Toolstation Plumbers Gold is MUCH better than gutter sealant and MUCH better than silicone since it cures using dampness and doesn't need the area totally dry.
