4x4 Anti roll bar mounting bushes

Featured Replies

OK Just had the top mounts changed to try and get rid of a knocking, also had wheel bearing done when mechanic noticed play in it (had no rumble at all so did not notice this? although it was definately knackered)

Unfortunately still getting a knock, also get a knock sometimes on setting off and hard braking so was getting that looked at.

took it to get 2 new tyres on the front, as they had scrubbed badly on the insides was getting the tracking done at the same time.

when the fitter had a look for the knock on the passenger side the ARB is sliding side to side?? meant he couldnt do the tracking.

So the bush that is fitted at the moment is 1j0 411 413P which from searching seems to be 20mm inner. would this be for a sleeved or non sleeved ARB and what difference does it make to the way the bar works?

If its a sleeved bar and the sleeve is damaged is that expensive? reading about having to drop the subframe to get bars out?

what size is the front ARB on a 4x4 anyway?

Anyone know what size the bar is and what its like to fix?

You can drop the rear of the subframe iirc

One of those jobs where a ramp halves the effort

As for size, really don't remember. The ones that came off my car weren't sleaved.

Thought you'd upgraded to 4Mo/R32 ARBs

No I had a set of shocks and springs but had problems fitting so all still standard at the moment. I missed out on a set of the H&R bars for £100 a while back
