Fabia vRS drivers wingmirror - black magic £50 all-in

Featured Replies

Open to reasonable offers.

Was going to keep as spares but once I get my original one back from the bodyshop there is no point keeping this one as it doesn't connect up to the mongrel's wiring. In black magic, looks in VGC to me. Have photographed one apparent stonechip/scuff. Aside from that is very clean maybe the odd other light scratch that should polish out. Will include the glass as well.

Won't be available to ship until next weekend as is currently fitted to the mongrel for a week whilst the oem mirror is in the paintshop. :)

Wrong section, mods please move and then administer SCN-style lifetime ban with abusive message. Thanks.

Actually, you said in another thread I saw earlier that you think this doesn't fit because your PD100 isn't "vRS-spec"? What wiring does this have on it?

My mirror glass on the drivers side has been cracked and had one of those crap Halfords generic sticky-backed things put on, so there's no heating for winter (which I definitely want after last year!) and depending on where you have your head when you're looking at it, things distort like you're driving through a circus hall of mirrors...

It "fits" - it merely must have some kind of extra bit of wiring that connects to a plug about 6" from the mirror, that goes the rest of the 2 feet or so to the plug in the door. My mirror simply has one bit of 2 feet wiring with the plug on it. I think I see why they did it as it means you don't need to remove the whole door card to change the mirror. :) Shame they couldn't have thought of that back in 1998/99 when they were designing the first fabia :D

Pretty sure you'd still have to take the doorcards off tbh. I recently took my crap DTM style mirrors off and put the standards on, and I struggled to get the tweeter covers off and have enough room to work because of the length of the tweeter wires. They come off, but the wires are so tight I don't think you'd be able to move the covers out of the way enough to get your hand in and detach/re-attach the electric mirror plug, at least not as well as keep the other end of the wire clipped onto the dodgy clip that holds it against the door.

So I can conclude that Skoda did it entirely to **** you off several years later for no actual good reason :D Anyway, the point of the post was that if this is indeed the one with shorter vRS-style wiring, then I might be interested if only for the glass, maybe not for a couple of weeks until I've figured out exactly how much a new clutch will be, but I'm subscribed now so I can keep an eye on the thread.
