Throttle...

Featured Replies

The car, a vRS CRD went pinging its way home tonight so I called Skoda Assist. It displayed the exhaust control light on the dash and occasionally, the glow plug light. SA sent out the RAC who have diagnosed a faulty throttle body accelerator and given me the codes on a report sheet. The guy cleaned it out, as it was full of oil and it seems to be back to normal apart from the pinging which he left so the dealer can fault code it themselves to check out the problem. He advised me to book it in which I will as its under warranty but my question to you learned lot is why does it throw up the exhaust control light if it's the accelerator ? I was immediately thinking it was the DPF again but I've only just had that fixed about a month ago. TIA

Isn't the exhaust control light actually a generic engine management system warning light?
