Troublesome Greenline II going

Featured Replies

Some of you might have read about my Greenline II and for those that have not I have had lots of breakdowns resulting in a new engine, on new engine faulty injector 1 then 2 and then 3 and faulty exhaust sensor. As I type this there could be a problem with the car as I have lost 10% in fuel economy since last repair and looking worse for tank full 2.

It's been agreed I have a sub standard car and will be ordering a replacement Fabia next week with Skoda helping with the cost.

Glad to hear you're getting a new car as a replacement.

Hope it doesn't take too long to arrive!

Thanks for that I still have a couple of things to sort out about the deal.

It's been troublesome getting to this point and I still have to find a big wedge of dough. I very nearly paid off the finance and moved on but that way it would have cost me even more money I do not have.

Dempsek,, really sorry to hear you've had all this trouble. But glad you are getting another Skoda and Skoda are helping a bit with the cost. Keep posting mate! We've all learned quite a bit from your experiences.

Robert Eardley's have got a nice 60-plate vRS in for just under £14k. Insist upon it

Instead of a GL2 that does over 70mpg?

Yeah but it'll be more fun.

Cannot use Robert Eardley, the deal has to be with the supplying dealer 77 miles away.

Not sure which variant I will be ordering but it will not be a Greenline II for two reasons predicted delivery times of up to a year and I am not sure I would have confidence in the car.

For the mileage I do it's very close between petrol and diesel, I usually have diesel for the extra grunt, considering 105ps TSI and CRTDI or the 90 CRTDI.

Was going to have a Scout but am now worried about polishing and cleaning it.

I have to say the Scout looks lovely with the lower body armour. A bit different from all the other cars.

Very practical for day to day use with no painted rear bumper to mark the paint on. I like that on an estate car which is one of the things I like on our Yeti. Front section means less stone chips on the front bumper too.

If I was buying a Fabia now I'd probably get a Scout.

Glad Skoda are helping out and glad your staying with the brand.

Keep us posted on what you order.

Sorry to put you through everything again, but can i ask what problems you have had, and how would you rate the dealer you used in dealing with the issue/problems?

thanks Demp

The problems are listed above and include disappointing fuel economy linked to the faults.

My problem has been complicated in that the repairs were done by my local dealer who were fairly good and the car was bought off another dealer 77 miles away and their service department were very good. When the first injector went in the middle of my holiday they had no courtesy cars and lent me the workshop run around 1.9tdi did over 60 mpg to get me around.

As I have got to find more money I think now I have decided the Scout 1.6CR TDI 105ps over the Elegance and with a dog your comment about rear bumper makes sense - thanks

Only just very nearly said stuff it and moved on, dealer reminded me how much extra it would cost.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the GreenLine, real shame and hope it all comes to the good eventually.

By the way have you tried the TSI 85, wife's had one for over a year now (Elegance trim) and it performs very well. Had the loan of a SE TSI 105 while it was being serviced; personally didn't feel there was that much between them. Only thing better about the SE being the ride on the narrower and deeper profile tyres.

Thought about both TSI engines 86 in Scout and 105 in Elegance, for the mileage I do it's break even between diesel and petrol over 3 years.

Lugging the family and dog about all the time the extra grunt from a diesel makes a big difference.
