Tyre Question

Featured Replies

Just feeling this one out to see if anyone has either tried it,or has any experience of it.

I currently run 205/55R16s all round on my Octy 4X4 Turbo, but was given a pair of Rainsport tyres that are 195/45R16

The question is this.If I put the 195s on the front and leave the rears as they are would I have any issues with the handling.

The car does suffer from slight understeer at the moment and I was just wondering if this would improve this any or make it worse.

Thanks

Your speedo would be way out and you'll damage the 4x4 system you need the same sized tyres all round. Better off fitting a uprated rear anti roll bar

You will burn clutch's out in haldex unit fitting different sized tyres front and rear,

As said above a rear roll bar should stiffen things up altho 2wd owners tend to fit them to cure oversteer

Opps think i got mixed up between over and under steer lol

Half way down the page mate. enter what you have and what you wanna put on and it will give you the differences.

doing that would mean that at 70 on speedo your really doing 64

also would mean that for every mile you really do the speedo says youve done more than a mile.

Raf is correct; this will damage the Haldex, and quite possibly make the speedo read illegally.

Also, it will cause more understeer because the "new" tyres are narrower.
