Green air filter

Featured Replies

A concern has festered in my head of late with the green cotton air filter.

A friend of mine had a similar one put on his vauxhall astra coupe turbo, 1 week after putting it on his air flow meter went kaputt! He has blamed the air filter?????

Anyone had any problems???

Should i be worried????

And also what are the benefits? Is there any audible diffenrece?????

Audible differences seem to vary - mine definitely makes the car sound more raucous and drowns out the horrible diesel clatter nicely ;) Other people have found no difference in the noise so maybe I forgot to put the air box back together properly ;) Performance-wise I doubt you'll notice any difference!

In terms of MAF (Mass Air Flow meter) failures, these are usually attributed to running with oily panel filters, such as K&N. The Green one is relatively lightly oiled and should stay like this even after cleaning. I've not had any probs with mine and its now covered at least 15k miles :D
