Got me a BEAST!

Featured Replies

That's it, I've taken the plunge and brought a V6 estate. My local dealer had an 11 plate steel grey with 200 miles on for £24999. I test drove a 170CR a few weeks ago, but spec for spec, over 3 years the V6 is cheaper all in  decided this morning, picking it up on Friday. Yay

@ Dobbey

well your V6 looks very nice indeed!

But I've noticed you do not have PDC sensors on the front of the car nor do you have them on the side of your car..(for the Park Assist System)

Here in Belgium a S2C V6 in Elegance trim does have all of this fitted as standard equipment.

So I have this on my S2C V6

Perhaps your V6 isn't Elegance?

Or else there are quite some differences between the same car in the UK and the cars in Continental Europe ??

In the UK Front Parking Sensors and "Auto Parking" are extra on the Elegance - and quite expensive.

Correct. Not worth it IMO

thanks for the information !

How very strange indeed...how equipment can vary depending of the country in which you buy a car !

Here in Belgium the Elegance trim comes standard (amongst others) with Front Parking sensors and Park Assist, where you want it or not :-)

This is true, however there will be things that a UK Elegance spec car has as std that another country will not get:

Columbus sat nav

Xenon's

Leather trim (front heated)

18" wheels

etc

Just one or more of these may be an option depending on your countries std spec

Well....Front Parking sensors come in very handy in view of the lenghty bonnet of the car B)

But concerning the Parking Assist I totally agree with you...if an option it's very expensive and indeed not worth it then.

To tell you the truth..in the 8 months now that I have my V6...I didn't even dare to try it yet....am a bit suspicious about the damn thing...

and I don't want to risk damaging my car in the event the automatic Parking sytems makes a wrong calculation... :S

By the way..you got a really terrific set of alloys on your "beast"

Contrary to the UK...Elegance in Belgium does NOT have standard Columbus sat nav and 18" wheels...

They only come as an option in the so-called "Columbus Pack" in Belgium...costing you a mere 1500 euro's on top of the Elegance equipment.

But then that Pack gets you also: Front AND rear heated leather seats...

Leather seats being standard on Elegance.

How very confusing for a European consumer isn't it?

Well at least it gives us a subject to talk about :giggle:

an update:

Economy: 25.9MPG around town, driving normally/spiritedly. What are all you 170CR owners getting??

Headlight Beams: I know they have to be self-leveling because they are xenons, but they seem to be way too low. They pretty much only light the road. Does anyone else find this?

4WD system: Today, driving on the ice was effortless. I got out and got in a 2WD car, and it was terrifying. Its nice to have that security.

Columbus 'nav: I love it, the rest of the family hate it. They love nit picking :wonder:

Auto wipers: they dont seem to work. I even tried using a hose on the windsreen. Where is the sensor, or are they just not working?

Rear speakers: For people sitting in the back, its very quiet. Theres a speaker at the front of the door (which is very far away because of the size of the doors)and one at the back of the door, but its so low, its lower than the seat base, making them useless. I have adjusted the balance to compensate

Overall, A brilliant car though

I will update more, as I think Of more

I am achieving an overall average of 46.6 mpg in my 170 CR DSG.

What sort of overall average are you achieving or are you mostly town driving ?

Do you have the wiper stalk in the interval wipe setting ?

It's been mainly town, but we've also had about 5 motorway runs

R.E the wipers, I'll have a look after by bacon sandwich

Well I picked it up 2 days ago, and finally remembers to take pics:

First upgrade will be LEDs in the cabin :p

I did the interior LED's. Huge difference.

Re. wipers, they do need to be left on the "intermittant" or "one click up" position.

I leave mine in the "one-up" or intermittent setting and have no issue with the autowipe. You set the interval with the rotating dial on top of the stalk - all the way left, very long interval - all the way right, quite quick - I turn mine back one notch and this seems about right. It is a bit slow to react when passing lorries and you get a deluge of water hitting the screen very suddenly.

My CR170 4x4 Elegance getting approx 40mpg

Ireland Elegance spec includes

Heated Leather, Front and rear

Park-assist (I was using it in town, one day. Pedestrian on the footpath stopped to look at the steering wheel moving all by itself. V amusing to watch such a reaction)

Columbus

Re. wipers, they do need to be left on the "intermittant" or "one click up" position.

Auto wipe does not kick in until the car reaches 12mph. Same for auto door locking.
