It could either be the tensioner for the aux belt, or possibly it might be brought on the free wheel pulley starting to fail on the alternator.

To change the tensioner you need a spanner to fit onto it, and a locking pin (can use the one from a the replacement one) and a new belt. I think to fit the tensioner, you need to remove the pulley from the PAS pump (held in with a couple of allen bolts.

An extra pair of hands is handy for when taking the tension off the belt to fit the locking pin, and also for taking the tension when removing the pin (upon fitting)

thank you iv been out today and had a good look again and it is the alternator pulley so been looking and fond a Alternator Belt Tensioner damper with the pulley for £57 so would it be better to replace the hole thing or just the pulley just don't wont to be doing it again in a couple of weeks thanks and sorry for all the questions

Given the mileage of your car, I would change both assuming they are original. The pulley on the alternator can be a bit of a pain, due to the faffing about in getting the alternator out (PAS pump, rad fan, etc). You need a fancy tool for changing the pulley on the alternator, unless you can get your friendly garage to do it for a few quid.

Is that £57 for both parts? That sounds very cheap....

The pulley is about £32 but you should be able to get a 25% discount from ECP with the discount code on here. The part number should be 022903119C.
