Puddle Lights

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've noticed that the side wing mirror puddle lights as well as the plate one doesn't illuminate too much in the dark and were wondering if it could be possible to replace them with LED ones. Is it possible? would the new ones be brighter? I've been searching and searching but haven't found posts about this.

Thank you!

From what I've heard, LEDs don't give ambient light. It will just show a little spot of light on the ground and not much else

LEDs will provide a whiter light, but not necessarily brighter. Number plate lights are meant to be dull, so as not to distract any following driver by not providing unnecessary glare.

Yes that's true, but I expected to get some ambient light when in dark, in some way like the BMWs do with their parametric leds all around the car. But I agree that having a 18 LED plate back in the license plate cannot be usable if it glares the other drivers.
