Rear of car skipping over bumps

Featured Replies

Hi, My 54 Plate Oct II 140PD has only done 50,000 Miles but I think one or both rear dampers could be failing, the ride at the rear is now very harsh, to the point that the back of the car will skip sideways over relatively small bumps anywhere over 30 mph and up. I have and want to remain on std springs but would feel happier exploring another brand of dampers instead of skoda /vw parts. I have considered maybe a pair of Bilsteins Or Koni units, would anyone like to recommend what is considered to be a good choice for upgrading. The rear has always been a little harsh anyway, plus any handling or comfort improvement over std would be welcome.

Thanks

Koni FSD (4090 revision) or the Bilstein B6.

IIRC the Bilstein B4 is "oe" spec.

Many thanks guys, will probably go for the konis

Yep, think that's right Rob. B6s are little more 'sporty'.
