With all the Problems reported on here regarding the Columbus units and 7 digit post codes like to report some success for a change. My business partner took his 1 month old SuperbCombi in yesterday to the dealer in Hull and it was updated with no problem.

Also took my wifes Octavia in to Wayside in Milton Keynes for 1st service yesterday and reported the problem on her Columbus unit and again sorted with no problem.

SO obviously some dealers are aware as the service dept in Wayside said they had done quite a few.

Great to hear.....BUT WTF is a car being sold with old software on it still? my Dec 2010 supplied Superb combi came supplied with V7 maps installed on the Columbus (and the V7 disc)

Got to Agree with you there, the wife Octy was only collected 4 weeks before my Superb which had all the current software and maps but as for the other Superb being a month old! I think its a combination of Old stock Columbus units and very poor PDI checks by the dealer

I took delivery of my Octy in March this year.

It came with V7 maps installed, and DVD supplied, however the firmware was too old to support the 7-digit searching.

I had to download and update the firmware myself.

It must be due to old units in stock - maps are installed at the dealers, so will usually be the latest version, but firmwares can be old.
