Flappy rubber

Featured Replies

Front passenger side, bottom of the windscreen pillar where it meets the top of the front wing - there is a thin strip or rubber, about 2-3 inches long that has started to come loose and flap about it the wind. Anyone else had this happen and know why?

I'll give the dealer a buzz next week to get it fixed under warranty but just wondered if anyone had anything similar in case there was something else going on underneath.

It's happened to my 08 fabia, it's part of the a pillar black plastic trim exterior, however I think the whole unit needs replacing

had mine replaced by dealer under warranty, no problems now

I noticed this problem on my wife's Fabia a few months ago (front passenger side again) - I think the rubber seal had been flapping about for months, but she couldn't see it from her driving position - It could only be seen from the passenger seat when the car was moving, because it falls back into place when you stop.

The car is a 57 plate so by the time I noticed it, it was out of warranty by about six months. The rubber strip is attached to the black pillar trim, so the whole assembly has to be replaced - The good news is that it only costs £12 for a new one.

You can in fact buy a new 'A' pillar seal from your dealer. Mine on the drivers side went after one year.

Cheers all. Good to know it's nothing serious but still I'll be getting it done under warranty.
