Picking up a Fabia this weekend

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Just thought I'd say hi! I'm picking up my first Skoda this weekend. I've been driving a Nissan 350Z every day for the last year, but due to fuel prices going up, and a change in circumstances I've opted to get something more economical and save the 350Z for fun times :)

It's a 2002 Fabia in "Green" but I'd call it turquoise! 1.9 TDI with 105k miles. It was a great price, and while I was thinking about it the seller threw in 2 snow tyres on steel rims, and a spare alloy with a good tyre! Looks like I'm all set for the winter! It's even taxed and MOT'd well into 2012.

My first question is where can I get a replacement front badge? One thing I can't stand is a tired looking badge :(

Looking forward to joining the community and discussion :)

welcome to briskoda

Have a look for pastyboy on here who sells badges of varying kinds or a genuine one from your dealer is also an option.

Will do! I see you fit cruise control? Can you PM me details? I'm going to be munching some miles next year!

Indeed I can.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Here we go! Very impressed with the high MPG driving home.

Ive got a small list of parts and faults I need to sort out if someone can point me in the right direction?

1. The switch for the electric mirrors is broken - where can I source a replacement and a guide to fit it?

2. I need a cover for the rear wiper hinge - source?

3. The fuel cap release is very stiff and I'm a bit worried about it breaking - tips for fixing?

3. The heated seats don't appear to work (only tried the drivers side) - suggestions?

1. The switch for the electric mirrors is broken - where can I source a replacement and a guide to fit it? - EBAY / BREAKERS YARD

2. I need a cover for the rear wiper hinge - source? - DITTO

3. The fuel cap release is very stiff and I'm a bit worried about it breaking - tips for fixing? - CHECK CABLE BEHIND TRIM IN BOOT ON THE RIGHT SIDE. IT CONNECTS INTO THE FUEL CAP AREA - MIGHT BE LOOSE / STICKING - TRY WD-40? :D

3. The heated seats don't appear to work (only tried the drivers side) - suggestions? - RECOMMEND CHECKING FUSE FIRST. FUSE 63 I THINK.

Excuse the CAPS but I wanted to distinguish easily. Skoda dealers for 1 & 2 also possible, but not cheap.
