Central locking door problem

Featured Replies

Hello All

I have a 2002 Skoda octivia ambiente and i have a problem with the rear door .The remote on the key does not work nor never worked and i am not wooried about that. However when i open the front driver door with the key the rear left door will not unlock .After a few turns of the key it may or may not pop up (open).

Has any one had this problem before and if so whats wrong?, Tried to take the rear panel off but unsure how to get intergrated door handle off to investigate further.

Tahnks in advance if anyone can help me.It s really reckin my head.

regards

John Joe

this has been a problem in the past for me, i think it's down to the micro switches within the doors locking mechanism, if i remember rightly, there is replacement switches on ebay, or find a brakers yard and take the full mechanism and swap it arround, but to get the rear door card off find a small plane screw driver at the bottom of the handle gently wedge the screwdriver under and slow pluck it out, once you get that off theres 2 star screws, up where your rear electirc switch is there an other little screw hiding behind the switch cover, depending or not if it's been off before it might be a star screw or a torxs screw, but yeah you'll notice there is 5/6 torx screws around the outline of the door card, hope this helps you my friend as when this happened to me it was highly anoying.

i havent done it as yet but the otcy plugs arent that bad to change, before trying to take and plugs off try pushing the release down then push it on then take it off i find it's easyer for plugs, but with regaurds to chaging the whole thing you'll need a 8mm spline bit, there are 2 8mm spline screws on the inner lip of the door close to where the door catch is, but the door cable release is easy enough to remove, good luck!
