Unbelievable Skoda Dealers

Great news, Skoda Customer Care has today agreed to pay for the repair!

I have to say there have only ever been a couple of occasions I've had to deal with Skoda UK (alloy wheel corrosion, injectors and now this) but the service I have recieved each time has been nothing short of exceptional.

They could so easily have said no as it can't be proved who did the damage, or they could have offered a contribution, but instead they chose to offer to pay 100% of the £420 quoted by my local Skoda bodyshop which is fantastic.

They put it down to my brand loyalty (two Skoda Octavia's, both main dealer history from new). Great service Skoda, a very happy driver here - and as long as this level of service continues I'll remain a loyal customer too!

That is fantastic news, well done you and well done Skoda UK

Something I noticed for my first service to get replaced. Marlborough Skoda didn't even bother using stainless steel screws - car is less then a year old and they are already turning to rust.

Actually this may be a blessing in diguise. If they used stainless screws then your bodywork would corrode more quickly (the bodywork becomes a sacrificial anode), stainless is not always the answer. The only way to eliminate the problem if you have to use screws, use plastic bolts & nuts with some vaseline to seal the drilled metal.

Dropped the car off at DM Keith in Leeds on Thursday morning and picked it up this evening.

Hat's of to the guys in the body shop, completely hassle free from start to finish.

Got a nice little diesel Roomster Scout to get to me to work, only £10 a day for insurance, no excess.

Apparently the repair involved them drilling through the boot over the rust spots and welding plates over the holes with a bit of grinding and panel beating to ensure the rust was completely removed.

Had them respray my spoiler which had been botched by the previous owner (looked like it had been sprayed on a windy beach!), it had to be taken back to the fibre glass, three hours prep and only an extra £80.

When I was shown to the car they opened up a roller shutter door to a well lit valeting bay for me to inspect the work, the car had been completely valeted and polished, tyres blacked, inside was immaculate. It was cleaner than the day I bought it!

Very happy with both Skoda UK (for their sympathy and that they paid for it) and DM Keith for a painless fix and quite possibly the cleanest vRS on the road!
