PHILIPS EXTREME VISION 100% H7

Featured Replies

Hi I've purchased these candles as I'm fed up with the ultras cost £60 for 4 so hopefully will light up the road a little better also my dip level is set to low so will change, has anyone fitted and are they happy

Yeah had plenty of these over the years, got a set ready to fit now actually. Much better and more reliable than Nightbreakers.

How much. £14 a pair on ebay..

These were my first and quickest mod as the originals are so poo! They seem OK to me, certainly much better than the OEM fit.

Fitted these today... Big improvement, both in the brightness and the beam profile. I believe that the 70mm f/1 optics of the projector lamps are much more critical of the exact filament positioning than is the case with reflector types of headlamp. I also believe this is why the Philips lamps give a bigger improvement than just the increased light output.

Although they make a big improvement, they still aren't the best QTH (halogen) headlamps I've used (these belong to a Mk3 MX5), but the lights are absolutely transformed - from OKish to really quite good.

Definitely recommended.

Auto Express stated in their bulb test a few weeks ago the Philips Extreme Vision were costlier as each bulb was inspected individualy. This could explain the better performance due to filament position.

Big improvement coupled with adjustment. Just make sure you don't raise beam too much and blind other drivers!

Phillips Extreme 100% Vrs Osram Hyper Blue

Philips are still "slightly" yellow compared to the LED's in my eyes its not so bad if you crouch down a little the yellowness goes away but it remains if you look down on the lights.

I have gone for the "Hyper" blues by Osram too - best looking bulbs imho - although if you live in the countryside not the brightest but no issue for me as im in Manchester. Not technically 'E' stamped so illegal by definition only; but there's nothing with them that is actually illegal in the road vehicle lighting regulations in uk law - so no problems with MOT / Police etc. Very good beam pattern so no spraying like HIDS.

apart from the fact that they are too blue and have no e markings. Its is an Mot requirement that the light is white and not blue.

the pic makes them look blue but its hardly noticeable. even looking at the projector straight on.

Not sure what you are looking at but I can't find them at £14 a pair. Maybe need to re check what you are serching for. £14 a piece sounds a bit more accurate.

They look pure white. And the offence for a non-E marked bulb is so obscure I doubt anyone has ever been pulled up on it because common sense suggests if it does the job and conforms to every other law - which is does (it works/its white/its maintained/it doesnt dazzle) then no issues.

So what make are these bulbs then and where are they advertised?

I bought some of those blueys too.

A luvly colour match to the LED DRLs but the light output of a candle at the end of a tunnel.

I flogged them on Ebay Seb.
