Xenon Lights

Featured Replies

Apologies all, I sent from Quicktime and must have missed that check box.

Changed now.

PS I love the moving xenons, and when it was foggy the other night when I was out and about anyway, thought I would video it and start a new thread, then found this one, which will do nicely.

Thanks; its working; but I guess you know that.

I have found a useful use for the swivelling function. If there is an oncoming car with no lights on at dusk (saw two yesterday around 4:45pm); just swing the steering wheel to the right and back with a simultaneous flash of the headlights. The driver gets a direct flash of my lights and gets 'the message' very quickly to put his/her lights on.

Excellent Video.

Didn't realise that they would move so much.

Thanks

Those swivelling lights are just freaky!!

I read somewhere recently that Hella reckon that the use of HID lighting will tail off very quickly in the next 5 years as they introduce their new LED lighting systems. A UK company has already produced a fully legal LED unit in the common 7" size.

I was in a current shape Mondeo Titanium the other day with swivelling Xenons and cornering fogs. How unsubtle they are!!!!! Crude!!!! The fogs come on wham and go off immediately. They don't fade in and out like the Yeti's does. On the Mondeo I noticed them coming on every single time and they made me jump and look there. Not good. Also the Xenon's swivelling was a lot faster and they swivelled much further than the Yeti's. Again this movement was too much for my liking and it was very obvious. I prefer the Yeti's unobtrusive approach which means they are just on and shining where you want them without you noticing them doing it unless you really look for the momement.

Love my Xenons though! Driving the V5 or MX-5 at night it feels like they have candles up ahead to show the way!!! :giggle:
