Confused about comparethemarket accident stage?

Featured Replies

Hello,

In December 2010 somebody reversed into my brand new VRS when it was unoccupied :'(

All damage etc was recovered from the other side via my insurance, no fault of mine.

One years NCB added this year come renewal.

When I go on comparethemarket, and go to the add claim / accident stage (as I have to list the above), I am confused about the following options:

Driver: please select, Mr Stuart ******, other

Fault: yourself, other driver, unoccupied vehicle

Now, for the driver bit, I wasn't driving, does it just mean who was driving before the accident happened? Who do I select?

Fault, obviously this lies solely with the other party so the option is either other driver or unoccupied vehicle, but does unoccupied vehicle mean that I hit an unoccupied car or somebody hit mine whilst it was unoccupied? Comparethemarket is really unclear on this, as there is now option to select the type of accident, just whether it was for example an accident, fire, theft, etc.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

Stu

I would ring them as get it wrong and your cover could be void.
