Skoda Fabia door open light

Featured Replies

Can anyone help with a problem I have with my 2008 Fabia estate. The open door warning light keeps coming on even though the door is closed. This of course means that the interior light comes on and if the car is locked the alarm is activated. This seems to be an intermittent problem which is worse during haevy rain. I would be grateful for any suggestions to nelp rectify the problem as I have had to remove the fuse from the interior lights and leave the car unlocked.

The car needs testing on vag-com (vcds) to determine which door is faulty

I know it's the driver's side door but don't know how to fix it.

I would suspect the door catch itself to be honest from past experiences.

Try giving the lock mechanism a good blast of WD40 then operate the latch with a screwdriver a few times while you hold the exterior handle open with a rag.
