However, I was surprised that the vehicle has no jack or wheelbrace as it comes with the (gunk) repair kit. I previously owned a Honda and this also had the repair kit but it came with a jack and wheelbrace. The dealer assures me that jacks and wheelbraces are not included if you select a model with a repair kit. Is he right?

I'm afraid he is right. For a mixture of reasons -lower weight, greater boot space, and cheapness- the yeti comes with a cost option spare or a compressor and gloop. That is what I have and I share your unease.

It is quite common nowadays and rather relies on luck-the kit will deal with a puncture but not a damaged tyre , hitting debris or having to run flat after a deflation where there is no safe place to pull over and attempt a repair.

AA or RAC cover is the best you can do.

Hi enjoy you new yeti I have the 110 4x4 and find it a smooth powerful engine. Afraid your dealer is right no tool kit with the gunk, but you can get your dealer to order you one or look on fleabay, I have the gunk and no spare happy with that for local trips but I have now got a spare wheel to put in the boot for longer trips

Thanks guys. I used gunk once but it never worked. I now carry a tyre repair kit which enables you to plug a puncture with a rubber strip threaded through a special needle. It works a treat and unlike gunk, leaves the inside of the tyre clean.
