gearbox synchro's

Featured Replies

hey peeps,

im after some advice concerning the above

its had 5th and 6th synchro's done in the past but now the second gear needs doing as its a nightmare selecting it when down shifting, but ive noticed reverse can be quite stiff sometimes

ive had a quote for £400 all in to have the second synchro done, will it need the others doing soon? or will it be cheaper to get a second hand gear box for the same price?

cheers

forgot to say ive just had a brand new clutch fitted also but this has been happening for a while

I picked a vRS box for £275. And unit 18 fitted it plus replaced oil for £125. Is get a new box rather than keep repairing.

Yup best getting a 2nd hand box

Tried a gearbox fluid change? Helped on mine no end! :)
