Oil Catch Can

Featured Replies

Hi all just been having a quick look on the net and seems that a lot of people fit an oil catch can on the FSI and TSI engines. Im gonna be doing a DIY one as refuse to pay silly money for one when it aint rocket science and all the parts are easily (and cheaply) available. My question is does anyone have one fitted and would you put it on the urgent list or not? Opinions please :)

I wouldn't bother personally as I've seen pics of clean inlet valves later run with and without catch can and I didn't see a difference.

I'd like to see how you're going to make the PCV plate though :)

I've got a BSH catch can and the cr@p that comes out of it is not funny.

Personally, I would buy a second hand one, as the PCV plate needs to be spot on! I picked mine up new from fleebay for £95 and I have seen them for £70 used.

Have a look on the small ads on here and mk5gti, this one sold but just to give you a idea http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,36321.0.html
