EPC light

Featured Replies

Hi, new to the forum so hello all...

I've been driving my 54plate Skoda Fabia vRS now for over a year (warrenty has just run out, just my luck....)

have noticed that the (what I think is the EPC light has come on orange triange with exclamation point and a anti clockwise arrow around it), when I turn off and turn on again it goes away but

after a few minutes comes back on. i've gotten in contact with another Briskoda member SCVRS (who has a VAG tester), so hopefully going to get it diagonsed today.

Was wondering if any other members have had similar experences and what was their outcome.. I'm really fearing for the worst what with xmas coming up :o/

The only thing I've done to it recently is to put oil in it about 6weeks ago, it was a synthic oil (but cant remember which one), its not blowing blue smoke but is blowing a little white smoke (when I put my foot down....)

Any help....?

That's the traction control light, not the EPC light...

Same problem as this?

Same problem as this?

Hi Guys, thanks for the pointers...SCVRS didnt get back to me so I called my local mechanic friend of mine who had a look at the load signal wiring and that looked fine. I do have a slow punchure in the front left which requires me to pump up every 10days or so and does cause the car to 'pull' when its due to be pumped up again, he said to get the tracking done because he has heard that this can cause the traction light to come on (dont think that it is this) he also however did pull the wire to the alternator to slacken it off a bit and its not come on since, will keep you updated as to if this has now 'gone away' (fingers crossed...) at least the wirings ok :o)

Swapped the front and back tyres around on the pass side, just to eliminate the slow puncture theory... light still came on, looking more and more like an electrical issue, just need to VAGCOM it.....

really starting to wind me up now :(
