Shark performance Dyno run

Featured Replies

Took my standard pre FL TFSI octy to shark this morning and got some great advise on possible future plans for the car from Ben and his work mates. Ran the car which i bought a month ago, its a 57 plate and i was pleasantly surprised it ran 216 bhp Avg. Watch this space for future improvements :).

what options you running over in head?

On the Audi TT forums it's generally accepted that the 197 and 211bhp engines are running more than that - 210-230bhp is not uncommon.

I reckon Shark's rollers are fairly accurate too. They certainly gave 'expected' results on my car.

The op has a tfsi whereas the TT has the tsi engine, not sure whether it's the 200ps or 210ps from the golf gti. Either way, you're not comparing like for like. That sounds a little optimistic to me for a stock tfsi.

Well, that's how much it made :)

216 from a tfsi is halfway between stock and stage 1 so perhaps not entirely stock possibly?

Perhaps Shark is so good, that just being in close proximity to Ben and his software can force more from stock..... :p

We're good, but we're not that good!

Telepathy redefined :)

Dyno dynamics RR FTW.

I'm near 100 percent sure it is stock. It's booked in for a remap. Cat back and it's filter so I'm sure this will be confirmed in the day. Thx again Ben and team.

If it's not stock, then it's the worse remap I've heard of.......

I'm convinced my old GTi was much quicker once it had some proper miles on it - in fact when I swapped it for the octy (at about 90k miles) it felt really zippy-quick, no dyno to prove it but I'm guessing it would have been making more than it did when new. Same engine as a TFSI..

Dyno dynamics RR FTW.

Why's that?

BTW, stock Octavia 2.0TFSI on JKM's dyno..

whats so strange about 212hp everyone, its pretty widely known that (healthy) VAG cars often make more than the stated power figures?

Nothing's wrong with the 212bhp reading after all it was 3c ambient temp brrrrr!!

Nothing personal and I've said it before but I just wouldn't waste my money running on any other RR than a Dyno Dynamics. They seem to be the most consistent of any manufacturer and most forums seem to believe their results over other brands.

My own opinion of course

All RR's are a representative figure anyway, you'll never get an exact number that is 100% proof, the same car can make different numbers on different days. Just enjoy driving the car and don't worry over numbers and peek figures!

That was quick Greg, go for it dude

Cheers Pete. Will make sure I pop down to the NW meet once the works done.
