Possible break upgrades

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a 1.9tdi pd100 elegance and the breaks are pretty poor! When I had the car about 3 months ago it had just had new disks and pads all round but they are awful :(

What break upgrades would be a good move? I'm not racing or tracking the car so something that will be a good improvement for road use would be the ideal solution.

Thanks in advance...

What wheel size are you running? 15"?

How awful do you mean?

Are you sure that they have been bled properly? Has the fluid been changed within the last couple of years?

If you have a PD100 then if you want to go to anything bigger you'll need to change the hubs to the vRS ones as the carrier is integrated in yours and can't be unbolted.

The reason I ask is because if your running 15" the usual 312mm wont fit under them but the 288" fabia vrs ones will

EDIT: Ignore that then lol

I'm running the optional extra 16inch 205,45,16 wheels...

They aren't awful as in wont stop but they aren't great. They stop you but I just expect a little more from them! If that makes sense- its hard to explain! :(
