Has anyone fixed their wing mirror downlight? My drivers one is off and has been for a while, everything else on the car works apart from. Skoda tried to sell me a new unit for £50 plus but I was wondering if there was one of the usual vw common faults to be fixed.

I've the same issue.

I have red on a german site that this is due a bad connection inside the mirror. You can remove mirror glass and then rove the mirror holder.

There must be a plug that can be bypassed or removed and they just solder the wires again. Then the issue must be solved.

It's due corrosion that the connection fails. I had the problem after washing the car, i guess some water get inside the mirror...
