Flashing glow Plug Problem ?

Featured Replies

Hi looking for some advice, i have a Skoda Octavia 56 plate and lately i have been having a problem with it, the glow plug light has been constantly flashing and i have a loss of power, i cant rev the car past 3000 rpm, any help much appreciated, thanks

Here is the make and model of the car.

Skoda

OCTAVIA DIESEL HATCHBACK 1.9 TDI PD Classic 5dr DSG

The flashing glow plug light means a number of things, usually the most common is the brake light switch, but when coupled with running problems like yours the only way to be sure of the fault it to get the car scanned with VCDS or a dealer.

Thanks for the quick reply, i have been reading a lot about it on here but it seems it can mean a number of different things, was hoping someone may have came across the same one as mine, thanks again

My brakes lights came on during the night... it was very cold here... when I drove off this morning my glow plug warning light started to flash.

Sounds like its all tied in.

Sounds like a faulty brake light switch.

I seem to remember reading on here that the glowplug light will flash if the brake light switch developes a fault.

Just found this Linky hope it helps.
