1.4 MPi Strong vibration and misfire

Featured Replies

hey all

my little fabias(128000 miles) got a vibration thats very strong in first and second gears, fading off in the other gears (the higher they get) also my engines misfiring, is this something that could be caused by a clutch (needs doing anyway) or maybe a dog bone bush?

cheers guys :thumbup::thumbup:

An apparent misfire at idle is quite normal for the 1.4mpi. If misfiring while driving then this could be the cause of the vibration? Obvious starting point is the plugs, then the coil pack. An error code scan with VCDS will usually give an idea which cylinder/s is misfiring

Is there a rattling sound from the engine at the driver's side where the alternator belt is? If so, on 128k miles you probably need the timing chain replacing.
