so the other night i snapped my drivers side engine mount. the engine went bang and it moved around a lot until i pulled over. it ended up looking like this:

384838_1995796794870_1841990307_1304351_1600154693_n.jpg

now i bought a new uprated vibra technics mount and its making a terrible noise.

we've diagnosed it, the engine is hitting against the front anti roll bar.

now the anti roll bar is the uprated eibach one, so, whats causing it?

1. the engine has moved around too much and has ****** the dog bone mount, resulting in the engine moving more at the bottom and hitting the farb

2. the new mount is stiff resulting in more movement the other side, rather than a mutual thing

3. the after market farb is bigger and thus that amount wasn't designed for it. revert to standard farb?

now i phoned vibra technics and they said it should be at an exact location of the old mount, so it should be sitting in the same place... and it didnt do it before the engine mount snapped

they said i can send back the old mount so they can double check its bang in the right place

so i can do that, but thats posting and then waiting on them, long.

now im tempted to swap my farb for a standard one and see if that fixes it, but if the engine is in the right place then it shudnt matter as it didnt do it before

we measured my engine compared to ross' and mine seems a bit lower and further back compared to his

i could buy the passenger side mount but its £250 then the labour to fit, i dont really want to do it this close to christmas, just paid £250 for this side and tax'd it and stuff, would sooner not do it this month

dunno what to do, how can you tell if the dog mount is ******? it looks fine on the ramp, no movement and stuff

dunno how to resolve this one. could buy a £300 mount and it still does it. could buy a new farb and it still does it, dunno how to eliminate things
