Blank centre screen

Featured Replies

The central nav/radio/media screen has gone blank. The radio still works via the steering wheel controls but all other functions can not be used. Has anybody else had this problem - does the system have a separate screen or does it come as one whole unit. It is not a fuse problem as screen lights up as white.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Screen is part of the dashpod and the whole thing will need to be replaced as its not available as a separate part.

This has happened to me a number of times. The screen goes white with coloured lines through it. Radio / CD / SD card still plays but totally unreadable screen and the touch screen function does not work. My car is ~ 6 months old, the fault happens very rarely, so not overly bothered by it. In saying that I have flagged it with the garage for inspection on first service. Have you had you problem resolved yet?

Hi all, this happened on my 2011 Superb Elegance combo a few times and the entire unit was replaced under warranty. I'm now having bluetooth issues where various messages are coming up on screen in relation to bluetooth audio. It seems are aware of a few glitches with the bluetooth unit and mine is now also being replaced.

The whole unit was changed with no quibble. This was lucky as the car is out of warranty next month so a big bill has been averted. The new unit has also been upgraded so now includes full UK post code facility. Still trying to download all of the music as obviously have lost all of the original stuff.

The only problem is that the radio does not cut out when in reverse - garage can't sort this out with the settings. Has anybody got any idea how to resolve this with the settings menu?

Just had same issue on Superb II.  Happened once for 1 day ( 3 restarts ).  Cleared next day.

Dealer is currently applying 4 software updates to the radio unit under warranty. Says there is a known issue with the LCD driver but updates have to be applied in order.

It is the Bolero radio/media unit.

So here's hoping.

Guys Hi. I am new here but I know the answer to this one. My fleet Manager gave me a 60 plate 140se while I wait to order a new one. It told him that it white screened. I was informed that it was a known problem on my car that in three years the dealers had been unable to solve. A suggestion was made that another door was opened before the drivers door. This seemed to help but the problem came back after a few days.

Some internet searches suggested resetting the Bolero by pulling the fuse in the fusebox solved the problem.

Well it does sometimes. But it is a bit inconvenient to open the bonnet and pull fuse 15 to do this.

My scientifically proven solution is this and has the same effect as the open bonnet fuse pull solution.

When it white screens turn it off normally. Then press the on and the tune buttons in and hold them in. The screen comes on white in the normal way. Keep holding them in in the same way, after 15 or 20 seconds the unit goes off, black screen and restarts. With any luck, it comes up normally. It may come up white screen again. If so, repeat the whole process. Worst case it has taken me three attempts to get back to the normal welcome aboard screen, normally it is first time around.

Hope this helps.

I've refined this a bit.

Once it white screens, turn it off. Press and hold the on and tune buttons. The unit comes on in white screen mode, keep holding until it turns off (about 20 seconds) and the just let go. Wait until it comes on of its own volition - anything up to 10 seconds and it always comes up properly.

Also, since this refinement, it seems to white screen much more rarely. From every day to every week or so at most.
