Featured Replies

Hey just wondering whats the general concensus and most common coilovers you guys are putting on your cars?

Looking for something thats not too hard but wont be bouncy. What is everyone using and whats your favourite ones?

Thanks in advance

General concensus is KW v1's, take a look at www.dpmperformance.co.uk.

I guess its settled then :)

Do they go very low?

Ive got FK AK Street coilovers as I wasn't aware on this forum when I bought them and I just knew FK were a reasonable make :) I payed £230 posted brand spanking new and there great, love the stiffness and can go very low :) however as so many people are recommending Kw's I would take their advice ;) keep us updated dude :D

weitec hicon gt. . .about 460 new i believe,I've got a set waiting to go on mine for summer so obv i can't comment on them personaly, but heard lots of good things about them. . .kw's are in the same price range tho i think??. .n seem to have the upper hand in this thread.

Ho long is that offer on for mate?

See Elliot in the for sale section he's got some coilovers

We should hopefully have it on for the rest of the year but at the moment can't say weather it will continue into the new year.

I hope they are as that is when I'm ordering mine :(

I would like this also lol

are kw v1 better than weitek hicon GT ? im after a set of coilovers soon also

Weitec`s are one of KW budget brands I think? I`d expect so, for the tiny amount extra i`d think it was worth it. I really cant praise my V1`s enough for the money.

Seems a very good price for the KW as i paid similar for my weitecs last year, although my weitecs are coming off to be sold soon as im getting too old for this lowering malarkey.....emoticon-0110-tongueout.gif

Ah man, I didn't realise how cheap KW V1s were! I've just bought some AP coil overs.

Wonder if it's worth the hassle of returning them for a swap...

Doooo it :p

How long would these take a mechanic to fit?

£120 including alignment I paid

Many thanks for that info!

Would it make sense to have my cupra console bushes done at the same time? Any ideas if that would add much to the price??

Yes and yes.

Parts are around £16 for pair. Fitting would be another £80 odd on top I reckon. Well worth it though.

I know we've been over the before but I forget, what improvements does it make again?

Helps to restricting un-wanted movement in the front end.

Plus OEM ones only have two contact points, and are prone to failure. Cupra ones are solid.

I see, what unwanted movement is that though?

I do hope mine haven't already been done by the previous chap, suppose there's no way to know as I have nothing to compare it to.

Will it make the steering sharper or have more feel?

I'd imagine it would make it heavier?
