Just been reading a Czech motoring article via Google translate; didn't appreciate fitting winter tyres is now mandatory over there from start November to end of March.

Yes. that's true...i am originally from czech republic. and yes it's mandatory. the reason is because the winter there is different than here in UK. Same as other countries around (near) czech republic. As i am driving home twice an year, i got a winter tyres plus wheels. ( 16inches)... And honestly saying even it is mandatory requirement is good to have winter tyres in winter period.
